Tire Safety Guide Rules

PROPER TIRE INFLATION is the most important rule in tire safety and tire mileage.

CHECK TIRE PRESSURE ONCE A WEEK when tires are cool.  Read your owner's manual to determine the recommended pressure.

UNDER-INFLATION causes excessive wear on outer edges, tire flexing, heat build-up and lower gas mileage.

OVER-INFLATION causes excessive center wear on tires, impact damage, risk of fabric breaks and blowouts.

FOR SUSTAINED DRIVING at high legal, increase tire pressure 4lbs., but do not exceed maximum load rating of tires.

DO NOT reduce pressure when tires are hot.

ROTATE TIRES at 6,000 to 8,000 mile intervals to realize the full potential of tread life.

ROUTINELY CHECK TIRES for missing valve caps, valve extensions, side wall cracks, tread wear, bumps or bulges.
